Lasagna or Pork?
Imagine you go into a restaurant. There, the menu offers the following:
Plain Grilled Chicken
Spaghetti without meatballs
The waitress comes to take your order and asks “So, will you be having our Pork Chops or the Spinach Lasagna?”, never mentioning the other four choices on the menu. “Well, most people don’t eat the other four items, so we just tell them about the top 2,” she explains.
After some time, people come to believe the restaurant ONLY offers Pork Chops or Lasagna and thus assume they must pick between those two and only those two.
There are other items on the menu. This coming Tuesday, you will be presented with the “full menu”. If you don’t feel that the Pork Chops or the Spinach Lasagna will fulfill your needs, perhaps consider the ingredients contained in the other menu items.
Never make yourself feel like you’re in a position where you have to “settle” for one of two choices, even if you’re only presented with those two.
Research your menu before you order. And for the love of all that is red, white and blue.. Do NOT order something that will just make you nauseous once it starts settling.
This has been your analogy for today. Happy Ordering.
