My Grocery Deals of the Week

Unfortunately, my search for deals this week didn’t bring much new to surface, but in the end, I saved a higher percentage at the register.

My first stop was

The June 24 SmartSource flyer had a $3 off any Bayer coupon, which makes several of the varieties free!

The July 15 SmartSource also had a coupon for $2 off a Glade Expressions mist refill. Currently at WalMart, the item is priced at $1.98, making the refill free.

My trip to Kroger didn’t offer much more as far as free items go.

This past Sunday’s (7/29) SmartSource offered yet another $.50 off any Colgate toothpaste. As we know, Kroger doubles all manufacturer coupons under $.65.

$.50 x 2 = $1 off = 100% off

Additionally, I was lucky enough to nab the same deal at Kroger that I was at WalMart on the Bayer aspirin.

And then, there’s the not free:

We eat a lot of crescent rolls at my house, so automatically, I looked to see what I could do with my existing $.40 on 2 coupon that I printed from

$.40 x 2 = $.80 off $4 = $1.60 each = 20% savings, or 34% over the original price of $2.39.

I wasn’t impressed, so I moved on.

I found Reach toothbrushes for half off after this coupon I found recently and could not figure out where I clipped it from, but just found one at for $2 that would e the same deal.

Just like everyone else, I do dishes, (Ok, not really.  George does.) and I like it when I can get my brand-name liquid dish soap for dirt cheap.  I clipped this $.50 off coupon from this past Sunday’s Proctor & Gamble brandSAVER insert.

$.50 x 2 =$1 off = $.49 after coupon = 66% savings.

Good enough!!

If you’re like me and shave daily, you probably go through a pretty significant amount of shaving cream. I clipped this Skintimate coupon some time ago from my June 24 SmartSource.

$.55 x 2 = $1.10 off. $2.19-$1.10 = $1.09 = 50% savings.

I also wash my hair, but didn’t need any shampoo today.  I had a $3 off 2 Aussie or Herbal Essence products.

$2.77 x 2 = $5.54 for 2 – $3 = 2.54 for 2 (or $1.27 each) = 54% savings, and 65% off the non-sale price!

I took my purchase of the Skintimate, Bayer, Dawn and Colgate to the register and it all rang up at $8.68 before card and coupons. My end result of just over $1 was worth it!

A couple of sites I visit for such valuable information are: I am THAT lady, Frugal Living and Having Fun and many thanks last week to Emmett for giving me the Sunday Coupon Preview link!! It was a lifesaver today.

If you’re planning on hitting the grocery stores this weekend, be warned. It’s tax-free weekend in Arkansas! Our Rock the Shops blogger, Hilary talked about this upcoming frenzy in her blog yesterday.

And finally, speaking of Hilary and Free, she’s hosting our Freebie Friday this week, and is giving away 2 passes to Silver Dollar City, good through October 27.  Good luck!!

On the tax free holiday, i just loaded up my carts at online retailers who honor our holiday so I can check out this weekend and get the same savings and none of the hassle!

  2. I am so loving these blog posts! We need a coupon course 🙂
